When Jon Plumber fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huntingdon United's protests and gave Jon Plumber a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kristopher Golding got free with Tom Apsden in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34thth minute of the game Max Sanderson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Huntingdon United's Orson Bridge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dymchurch City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Kristopher Golding scored to the left of an out of position Tom Apsden, making the score, 1-0. Orson Bridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Sanderson in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Donald Goodwin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Max Sanderson scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orson Bridge, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 79th minute, but Orson Bridge got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Huntingdon United hanging dry this time. If Max Sanderson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Huntingdon United's goalkeeper Orson Bridge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donald Goodwin. After 85 minutes, Dane Rain made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Huntingdon United's Orson Bridge tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dymchurch City played a much better game than Huntingdon United and deserved their victory. The Huntingdon United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
