A collision led to Sutton getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Gwyn Garrett hit a great ball. In the 10th minute, Nick Dunning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Sutton's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Orchard came free, but William Ramsden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, West Ham United FC's Kyle Orchard got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Ed Pearce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristram Wright in the 24th minute of play. Dylon Sawbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Pearce having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Tristram Wright notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of West Ham United FC's Ed Pearce. Ed Pearce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tristram Wright received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ed Pearce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, West Ham United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tristram Wright came free, but Ed Pearce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Dylon Sawbridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ed Pearce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dom Philips to make the kick off. Tristram Wright sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tristram Wright was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a little luck, West Ham United FC's Ed Pearce got control of the ball when Dylon Sawbridge tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, West Ham United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tristram Wright came free, but Ed Pearce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sutton's William Ramsden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dom Philips in the 81st minute of play.
