Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Stewart Torpey took the kick off in the first half of the match. 2 minutes into the game, Nial Stubbs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vega Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wakefield FC the free kick. A collision led to Vega Fc getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Nial Stubbs hit a great ball. When Ray Peat came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Wakefield FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ray Peat couldn't finish the play. Ray Peat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Ray Peat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nat Bridgeman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stewart Torpey in the 18th minute of play forced Wakefield FC's goalkeeper Reuben Afful to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reuben Afful showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stewart Torpey in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Sly Burkinshaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 24 minutes, Roger Holland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wakefield FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Holland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nial Stubbs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reuben Afful took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nial Stubbs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reuben Afful made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nial Stubbs in the 29th minute of play. After 31 minutes of play, Vega Fc's Stewart Torpey made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reuben Afful was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stewart Torpey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stewart Torpey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Reuben Afful tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Wakefield FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nial Stubbs came free, but Reuben Afful reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Vega Fc were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ray Peat to strike the kick off in the second half. Deon Cambridge took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nat Bridgeman. Vega Fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 64th minute Ray Peat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nat Bridgeman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ray Peat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nat Bridgeman having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Ash Attwood was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vega Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wakefield FC the free kick. After 69 played minutes Vega Fc got a freekick which was hit by Ash Attwood. 70 minutes into the match, Vega Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Ray Peat came free, but Nat Bridgeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Ray Peat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nat Bridgeman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Vega Fc defense, Roger Holland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nat Bridgeman. The Vega Fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nat Bridgeman should have stopped the shot. Vega Fc's Nat Bridgeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Holland in the 82nd minute of play. After 92 minutes, Sly Burkinshaw mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vega Fc and the Wakefield FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Deon Cambridge, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nat Bridgeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Peat in the 95th minute of play. Wakefield FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
