The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Horsham. Dale Welsh shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Syd Haper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaun Sutcliffe having to interfere. Syd Haper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Shaun Sutcliffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Horsham booed when Twyford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowan Ashton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liam Jefferies fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brett Addison having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Syd Haper had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shaun Sutcliffe. Twyford's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Syd Haper was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Horsham's Victor Chadwick couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Twyford. In the 31st minute, Liam Jefferies got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game David Leadbeater who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Horsham's Brett Addison was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edward Cousins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaun Sutcliffe having to interfere. Gwyn Deaconsfield lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 45 minutes into the game, one of Horsham:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Twyford a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dale Welsh, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Horsham's Brett Addison. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Leadbeater stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that David Leadbeater's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brett Addison was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 55 minutes into the game, Rowan Ashton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Twyford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Horsham the free kick. After a rather tough play, Twyford's Dale Welsh got a free kick in the 59th minute. Horsham's Brett Addison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Leadbeater in the 92nd minute of play. If Liam Jefferies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horsham were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Twyford for a fine match.
