Leigh Bittner lost his temper 9 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 8th minute, one of Manchester Unity FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Manchester Unity FC. When the match had been going on for 11 minutes, Sutton on Sea City's Sammy Tate got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lance Burns. Brad Holdroyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Burns having to interfere. If Chip Coates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lance Burns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brad Holdroyd, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Lance Burns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Haley in the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Chip Coates left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sutton on Sea City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abraham Carey-Bertram during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Abraham Carey-Bertram's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kasey Parslow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sutton on Sea City's goalkeeper Kasey Parslow, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lance Burns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chip Coates in the 43rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Brad Holdroyd in the 58th minute of play forced Manchester Unity FC's goalkeeper Lance Burns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Carl Budge managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester Unity FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carl Budge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasey Parslow breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Sutton on Sea City getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Thomas Haley hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sutton on Sea City's Ted Perkins got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Nath Harkin struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Kasey Parslow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester Unity FC. Thomas Haley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Chip Coates made a precise shot to the right of Lance Burns. Manchester Unity FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Lance Burns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chip Coates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manchester Unity FC's Lance Burns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brad Holdroyd in the 79th minute of play. Chip Coates received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Lance Burns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manchester Unity FC's Lance Burns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chip Coates in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Carl Budge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lance Burns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chip Coates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Al Colman's late challenge caught a Sutton on Sea City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Al Colman helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Manchester Unity FC's Al Colman got a free kick in the 98th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sutton on Sea City had won after a very even match.
