After 25 played minutes Manchester Unity FC got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Carey-Bertram. Lance Burns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Chegwyn in the 34th minute of the match. Lance Burns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Al Colman was the one to do the kick off. Manchester Unity FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United the free kick. A collision led to Manchester Unity FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Al Colman hit a great ball. Manchester Unity FC's Lance Burns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Chegwyn in the 76th minute of play. If Frank Dines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Peter Chegwyn notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Manchester Unity FC's Lance Burns. Lance Burns was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 82nd minute Peter Chegwyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lance Burns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carl Budge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek Woodier made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Abraham Carey-Bertram sent off a good shot on target. After 95 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Greg Chadwick. Manchester United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
