After 8 played minutes Thame got a freekick which was hit by Gez Rain. Jacob Hughes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graeme Saville in the 11th minute of the match. Essex Gang's Eddie Hargrave played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyler Osbon in the 16th minute of play. Eddie Hargrave showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyler Osbon, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Essex Gang's Eddie Hargrave played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyler Osbon in the 21st minute of play. With his leg Eddie Hargrave managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Thame's Stuart Gurney fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tyler Osbon struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Eddie Hargrave didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thame. Zak Whitworth's late challenge caught a Essex Gang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zak Whitworth helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Thame's Zak Whitworth got a free kick in the 24th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stuart Gurney was the one to do the kick off. When Damien Shakespeare came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Thame fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damien Shakespeare couldn't finish the play. Graeme Saville received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jacob Hughes came out and tried to block the shot, but Graeme Saville slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 55th minute. The supporters of Thame booed when Essex Gang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jools Cole didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th play minute Vance Sheldon came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jacob Hughes. 0-2. Eddie Hargrave was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Damien Shakespeare left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thame fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Tristan Burley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Hargrave having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Thame's zone, Vance Sheldon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Hughes came out of the goal and Vance Sheldon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Thame getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Tyler Osbon hit a great ball. Thame's Jacob Hughes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Thame from getting a goal against them. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
