Spectators: 7568 (Terracing: 5677, Seating: 1740, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sly Dixon started the match with the kick off. Vic Wicks might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sacha Dlyan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vic Wicks ran back to his position shaking his head. When Crispin Boyd came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Lambeth FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Crispin Boyd couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Freddie Dryden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lambeth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddie Dryden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sacha Dlyan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Helsby defense, Nathan Stonebridge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sacha Dlyan. The Helsby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sacha Dlyan should have stopped the shot. Lambeth FC's Edward Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sly Dixon in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Caleb Middleton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edward Pearson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Vic Wicks sped through Helsby's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sacha Dlyan. Vic Wicks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Crispin Boyd struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Sacha Dlyan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lambeth FC. After some careless play in the Helsby defense, Vic Wicks kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sacha Dlyan. The Helsby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sacha Dlyan should have stopped the shot. Sacha Dlyan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ethan Airton, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Ethan Airton took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sacha Dlyan. Sacha Dlyan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Ethan Airton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sacha Dlyan having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vic Wicks in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sacha Dlyan saved Helsby from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Vic Wicks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sacha Dlyan. Helsby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vic Wicks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vic Wicks to make the kick off. If Ethan Airton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Dryden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vic Wicks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sacha Dlyan having to make a save. After having played for 58 minutes, Freddie Dryden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lambeth FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddie Dryden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vic Wickss short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Sacha Dlyan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vic Wicks's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Sacha Dlyan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Ethan Airton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lambeth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ethan Airton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sacha Dlyan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sacha Dlyan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ethan Airton in the 68th minute. Vic Wicks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vic Wicks let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 73rd minute shot 1-7 at rihgt post. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Crispin Boyd managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lambeth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Crispin Boyd was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sacha Dlyan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Helsby getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Will Chiverton hit a great ball. Edward Pearson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caleb Middleton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edward Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sly Crtichell in the 91st minute of the match. Vic Wicks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sacha Dlyan having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Ethan Airton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
