Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gus Santos started the match with the kick off. Cody Hamilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Rob Snowdon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gus Santos in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Bayford saved Vauxhall United from getting behind. Gus Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ivan Bayford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vauxhall United's Ivan Bayford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gus Santos in the 18th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Vauxhall United's Ross Newton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rob Snowdon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rob Snowdon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross Newton in the 32nd minute of play. After 35 minutes, Kieran Chandler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eltham and the Vauxhall United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Eltham's Kieran Chandler got a free kick in the 35th minute. Gus Santos struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Ivan Bayford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eltham. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Kieran Chandler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eltham's supporters rose to their feet, but Kieran Chandler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Bayford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ross Newton to strike the kick off in the second half. If Gus Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 minutes, Gus Santos made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Vauxhall United's Ivan Bayford tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 65 minutes, Gus Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eltham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gus Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kieran Chandler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Eltham's Gus Santos in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vauxhall United's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Eltham's Frazer Cartwright got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 76th minute, Frazer Cartwright hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ross Newton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rob Snowdon having to interfere. With his leg Rob Snowdon managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Vauxhall United's Verne Burbeary fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Eltham's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ross Newton 83 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Vauxhall United's Ivan Bayford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gus Santos in the 88th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Vauxhall United's zone, Gus Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Bayford came out of the goal and Gus Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeff Ellis might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Bayford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeff Ellis ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivan Bayford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gus Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 minutes, CJ Fletcher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vauxhall United and the Eltham players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th minute, CJ Fletcher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vauxhall United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
