Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Giles Oliver started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Thurlaston AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Giles Oliver came free, but Carl Jobling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conan Swallow might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Webster. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conan Swallow ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Byfleet Rangers's Giles Oliver sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carl Jobling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Conan Swallow came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Thurlaston AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conan Swallow couldn't finish the play. Tony Webster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristopher Darko in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Kristopher Darko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Webster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giles Oliver during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Thurlaston AFC booed when Byfleet Rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giles Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Conan Swallow ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Webster was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conan Swallow got free with Tony Webster in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thurlaston AFC's Kristopher Darko got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kristopher Darko made a kick off. Byfleet Rangers's Tony Webster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristopher Darko in the 53rd minute of play. The Thurlaston AFC fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Thurlaston AFC's Kristopher Darko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kristopher Darko scored 3-0 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Webster, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Conan Swallow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Webster having to interfere. Kristopher Darko struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Tony Webster didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thurlaston AFC. When Kristopher Darko came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Thurlaston AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristopher Darko couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the match, Byfleet Rangers's goal looked a bit too open when Conan Swallow came free, but Tony Webster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Webster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Darko, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute, Conan Swallow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristopher Darko in the 87th minute of play forced Byfleet Rangers's goalkeeper Tony Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kristopher Darko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Webster having to make a save. Thurlaston AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Giles Oliver scored to the left of an out of position Carl Jobling, making the score, 3-1. Byfleet Rangers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
