Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ged Nelson started the match with the kick off. Gez Stockdale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gez Stockdale got free with Rick Elam in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute Phil Langford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Ramsden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Ramsden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phil Langford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gez Stockdale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rick Elam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Ged Nelson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rick Elam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gez Stockdale in the 26th minute. Gez Stockdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Whitechapel's Michael Ramsden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ged Nelson in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Lond-Catford's goalkeeper Rick Elam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gez Stockdale. After 35 minutes of play, Whitechapel's Gez Stockdale made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rick Elam was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Junior Davenport came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Whitechapel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Junior Davenport couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute Gez Stockdale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rick Elam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Michael Ramsden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ged Nelson in the 59th minute of the match. Junior Davenport struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Rick Elam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitechapel. Romeo Panther charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeo Panther the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute, Romeo Panther hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Lond-Catford booed when Whitechapel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stuart Brewer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michael Ramsden made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Phil Langford sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Lond-Catford's zone, Gez Stockdale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rick Elam came out of the goal and Gez Stockdale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rick Elam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gez Stockdale in the 74th minute of play. Stuart Brewer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Elam having to interfere. Michael Ramsden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ged Nelson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rick Elam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gez Stockdale in the 88th minute of the match. Junior Davenport sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gez Stockdale came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Whitechapel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gez Stockdale couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Whitechapel had played much better football throughout.
