Spectators: 6750 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1750, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Liam Blakewell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clive Ellerby in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nathanial Cartwright prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 8 minutes into the match, Ivan Tonkin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Stan Lansdell, 1-0. In the 10th minute, Tom Leyburn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Werrington's Nathanial Cartwright played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clive Ellerby in the 11th minute of play. In the 14thth minute of the game Clive Ellerby who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Werrington's Nathanial Cartwright was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Birmingham yyw's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Tonkin came free, but Stan Lansdell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Werrington fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Werrington's Ivan Tonkin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Birmingham yyw's Liam Blakewell got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clive Ellerby scored 2-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nathanial Cartwright, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Liam Blakewell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nathanial Cartwright having to make a save. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Werrington's goalkeeper Nathanial Cartwright, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Liam Blakewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Birmingham yyw booed when Werrington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Leyburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clive Ellerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Nathanial Cartwright tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Liam Blakewell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Birmingham yyw's Liam Blakewell in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The wind increased when Ivan Tonkin made the kick off in the second half. Birmingham yyw's Liam Blakewell got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stan Lansdell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timothy Nelthorpe went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Werrington's zone, Clive Ellerby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathanial Cartwright came out of the goal and Clive Ellerby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Liam Blakewell was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Liam Blakewell struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Nathanial Cartwright didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birmingham yyw. Nathanial Cartwright made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clive Ellerby in the 73rd minute. If Liam Blakewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Liam Blakewell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birmingham yyw's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Blakewell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nathanial Cartwright breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Clive Ellerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Werrington's Nathanial Cartwright played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Blakewell in the 89th minute of play. Liam Blakewell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Clive Ellerby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Nathanial Cartwright made a huge save. Timothy Nelthorpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Lansdell having to interfere. Werrington succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Birmingham yyw had controlled the match.
