But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Syd Pritchard couldn't finish the play. If Jasper Coulson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommy Jennings fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Phimister having to interfere. A collision led to Vauxhall getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Bobby Hargreaves hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Jasper Coulson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vauxhall's Syd Pritchard got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tommy Jennings to strike the kick off in the second half. Tommy Jennings fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Phimister having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Mick Pilgrim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vauxhall's supporters rose to their feet, but Mick Pilgrim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stewart Giles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Phimister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Jennings in the 66th minute of play. In the 74th minute Tommy Jennings shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Phimister saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Syd Pritchard during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th minute, Syd Pritchard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, Lewis Keane was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Baltic Pearl FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vauxhall the free kick. The Baltic Pearl FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Vauxhall from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
