Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bowburn's Ted Dudgeon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clive Ellerbys short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Ty Cusack to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Josh Foreman's late challenge caught a Birmingham yyw's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josh Foreman helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bowburn's Josh Foreman got a free kick in the 6th minute. Vern Aldridge, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bowburn's Ty Cusack proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Bowburn from getting a goal against them. Birmingham yyw's Marek Potter was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ty Cusack in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Clive Ellerby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birmingham yyw's supporters rose to their feet, but Clive Ellerby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ty Cusack breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Alan Mansfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Liam Blakewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricky Baird recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Baird in the 25th minute of play forced Birmingham yyw's goalkeeper Stan Lansdell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Lance Coe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Bowburn's Ty Cusack got control of the ball when Clive Ellerby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Clive Ellerby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Birmingham yyw's Stan Lansdell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Dudgeon in the 38th minute of play. Bowburn's Ty Cusack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Blakewell in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Birmingham yyw's Clive Ellerby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ty Cusack made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Blakewell to make the kick off. Clive Ellerby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ty Cusack having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liam Blakewell in the 55th minute of play forced Bowburn's goalkeeper Ty Cusack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Bowburn defense, Liam Blakewell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ty Cusack. The Bowburn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ty Cusack should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the match, Liam Blakewell notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Bowburn's Ty Cusack. Ty Cusack was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Birmingham yyw's Lance Coe got a free kick in the 65th minute. Ricky Baird struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Stan Lansdell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bowburn. When Clive Ellerby came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Birmingham yyw fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clive Ellerby couldn't finish the play. In the 75th match minute, Birmingham yyw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lance Coe to maneuver through the defense. Liam Blakewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ty Cusack having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Bowburn's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Ellerby came free, but Ty Cusack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Craig Bull fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bowburn's protests and gave Craig Bull a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Craig Bull hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
