Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jasper Coulson got the match started through his kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, Alan Rockett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newport City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan Rockett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 4th match minute, Vauxhall was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bobby Hargreaves to maneuver through the defense. If Nathan Stamer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Vauxhall's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Rockett came free, but Alex Phimister reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vauxhall's goalkeeper Alex Phimister, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Ed Hubbard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfie Platt kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vauxhall's Marty Rowling got a free kick in the 38th minute. Alex Phimister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Rockett in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vauxhall's Mick Pilgrim got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, one of Vauxhall:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vauxhall. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alan Rockett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jasper Coulson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Gough having to interfere. Timothy Gough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Syd Pritchard in the 62nd minute of play. Vauxhall's Jasper Coulson got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jasper Coulson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Gough having to interfere. Alex Phimister made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Nathan Stamer sent off a good shot on target. Miles Wild hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
