An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Crowther in the 15th minute of play forced Kriegsmarine FC's goalkeeper Calvin Oddy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes in the game, Bob Hoskins fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tyler Lampard having to interfere. In the 23rdth minute of the game Terry Johnston who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kriegsmarine FC's Calvin Oddy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Crowther in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calvin Oddy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 30 minutes, Terry Johnston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashtead's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terry Johnston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Austen Rushforth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kriegsmarine FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashtead the free kick. After 31 played minutes Kriegsmarine FC got a freekick which was hit by Austen Rushforth. Terry Johnston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calvin Oddy having to interfere. If Albert Crowther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Len Bradley came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Kriegsmarine FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Len Bradley couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Ashtead's Matthew Aspinall got a free kick in the 44th minute. Tyler Lampard made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Len Bradley sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Albert Crowther made the kick off in the second half. Samuel Cain's late challenge caught a Ashtead's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel Cain helped the player get up and apologised. Samuel Cain hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Terry Johnston who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Calvin Oddy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Kriegsmarine FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Marty Parkin hit a great ball. The supporters of Ashtead booed when Kriegsmarine FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Austen Rushforth didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Albert Crowther got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Len Bradley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyler Lampard having to interfere. Tyler Lampard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Len Bradley, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Len Bradley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terry Johnston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Calvin Oddy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calvin Oddy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Crowther, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Albert Crowther made a precise shot to the right of Calvin Oddy. Kriegsmarine FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The Ashtead fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Kriegsmarine FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ashtead's performance. The match ended with a win for Ashtead.
