An unexpectedly hard shot by Kelvin Haseldine in the 12th minute of play forced Bristol St George City's goalkeeper Leigh Dyson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Devils FC's Gordon Nailor in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Bristol St George City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leigh Dyson should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Bristol St George City's Joel Hamilton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Connor Morrell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leigh Dyson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mickey Harrison in the 42nd minute of play. Christopher Broadhead struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Leigh Dyson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Devils FC. After the first half Devils FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Bristol St George City's Leigh Dyson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mickey Harrison in the 54th minute of play. Gordon Nailor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Ed Oates hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leigh Dyson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gordon Nailor in the 61st minute. Bristol St George City's Leigh Dyson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Bristol St George City from getting a goal against them. Connor Morrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ed Oates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 minutes, Kelvin Haseldine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Devils FC and the Bristol St George City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th match minute, Devils FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kelvin Haseldine to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Bristol St George City getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Ed Oates hit a great ball. Gordon Nailor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Leigh Dyson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Bristol St George City's goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Steele came free, but Leigh Dyson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Josh Kerridge came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Bristol St George City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josh Kerridge couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute, Devils FC's Mickey Harrison ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leigh Dyson. Leigh Dyson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The Bristol St George City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Devils FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Devils FC.
