Hugh Beerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, West Bromwich Albion's William Blackwater ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stan Mannell. After a rather tough play, Hemel Hempstead City's Fraser Parkin got a free kick in the 35th minute. A hard shot by Denzil Little from long distance, 36 minutes into the match, got Stan Mannell's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Zackary Byfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Lambert in the 37th minute of play. William Blackwater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. William Carter struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Stan Mannell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for West Bromwich Albion.

The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The West Bromwich Albion fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hemel Hempstead City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
