Stocksbridge FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gav Weeks kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Sebastien Boatman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brett Reynolds in the 13th minute. Stocksbridge FC's Brett Reynolds got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tristram Talbot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Tyler Le Saux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Stocksbridge FC's Brett Reynolds, in the 34th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. Dipton's Len Lister got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Stocksbridge FC's Brett Reynolds sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastien Boatman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Len Lister might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tyler Le Saux. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Len Lister ran back to his position shaking his head. Stocksbridge FC's Lawrence Sutton got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Stocksbridge FC booed when Dipton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
