After having played for 14 minutes, Don Portway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Don Portway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th match minute, Lynton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stew Leatherdale to maneuver through the defense. When Seth Litchfield came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Manchester Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seth Litchfield couldn't finish the play. Garth Beadel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Travis Philips in the 23rd minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Don Portway was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lynton the free kick. A collision led to Manchester Utd getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Don Portway hit a great ball. Don Portway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Don Portway could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Garth Beadel made a huge save. Seth Litchfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jay Rawson made a kick off. If Don Portway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute Seth Litchfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Beadel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Don Portway cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Garth Beadel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 58thth minute of the game Seth Litchfield who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lynton's Garth Beadel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 60th minute Don Portway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Beadel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Seth Litchfield came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Manchester Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seth Litchfield couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Seth Litchfield in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Garth Beadel saved Lynton from getting behind. After 69 minutes, Denzil Higginson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester Utd and the Lynton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Seth Litchfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Garth Beadel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rich Oldroyd took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Garth Beadel. Garth Beadel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Don Portway struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Garth Beadel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester Utd. If Seth Litchfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Seth Litchfield's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garth Beadel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute Seth Litchfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Beadel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garth Beadel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Portway in the 95th minute of play.
