Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Danny Crouch got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Pat Sykes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marc Harkness showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Crouch, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. If Ronnie McRobbie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dersingham AFC's Derek Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Tomlin in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match Hardly Athletic got a corner. Dersingham AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Micheal Harrison ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Micheal Harrison got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Derek Townsend quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Hardly Athletic's Marc Harkness got control of the ball when Danny Crouch tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Dom Kyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marc Harkness was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Danny Crouch showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. Dersingham AFC's Derek Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ashley Dobson in the 27th minute of play. Marc Harkness took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Crouch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Harkness made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Dom Kyle sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute Kurt Moon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Townsend saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Kirk Tomlin made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Dom Kyle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dersingham AFC and the Hardly Athletic players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th minute, Dom Kyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute Dom Kyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Harkness saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Dersingham AFC's Derek Townsend got control of the ball when Kirk Tomlin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Derek Townsend made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronnie McRobbie in the 65th minute. Ronnie McRobbie had several of the Dersingham AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 69 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Derek Townsend as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 73rd minute Ronnie McRobbie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Townsend saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Ashley Dobson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Derek Townsend. Ashley Dobson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. When Dersingham AFC's Dom Kyle in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hardly Athletic's goalie prevented a goal. Kirk Tomlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Townsend having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Crouch in the 86th minute of play forced Hardly Athletic's goalkeeper Marc Harkness to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Derek Townsend made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Kirk Tomlin sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute Ashley Dobson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Townsend saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kirk Tomlin struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Derek Townsend didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hardly Athletic. 96 minutes into the match, Ashley Dobson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Derek Townsend, 2-4. The Hardly Athletic players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
