Rod May took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kieran Devine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. rommiley spartans's Rod May played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Jenkins in the 4th minute of play. If Louis Paine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th match minute, rommiley spartans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis Paine to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, Vinnie Tisdale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rod May was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Rawdon FC's Garry Crowther got a free kick in the 14th minute. Louis Paine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Daryl Crane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22ndth minute of the game Kevin Long who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but rommiley spartans's Rod May was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Kevin Long fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rawdon FC's protests and gave Kevin Long a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rawdon FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kevin Long hit a great ball. If Kevin Long had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rod May made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vinnie Tisdale in the 34th minute. Louis Paine kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Louis Paine struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Daryl Crane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for rommiley spartans. The supporters of Rawdon FC booed when rommiley spartans was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phillip Leadbeater didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rawdon FC's Jeffrey Coombe couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for rommiley spartans. The crowd rose to their feet as Rawdon FC's Kevin Long slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rod May. That made the score 2-0 after 48 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kevin Long to make the kick off. The supporters of rommiley spartans booed when Rawdon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huey Pye-Finch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinnie Tisdale scored 3-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rod May, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vinnie Tisdale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 80 played minutes rommiley spartans got a freekick which was hit by Marty Graves. After 84 minutes, Kieran Devine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rawdon FC and the rommiley spartans players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 84 played minutes Rawdon FC got a freekick which was hit by Kieran Devine. 88 minutes into the match, Vinnie Tisdale had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rod May. rommiley spartans's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinnie Tisdale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Rawdon FC had won after a very even match.
