Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dersingham AFC's Danny Crouch started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Dersingham AFC's zone, Eddy Nicoll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derek Townsend came out of the goal and Eddy Nicoll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 5 minutes, Dom Kyle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dersingham AFC and the Annscroft FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes Dersingham AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dom Kyle. Derek Townsend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Nicoll in the 9th minute of play. When Reggie Whalley came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Annscroft FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reggie Whalley couldn't finish the play. Annscroft FC's Wesley Lawson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Crouch in the 12th minute of play. Eddy Nicoll struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Derek Townsend didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Annscroft FC. Reggie Whalley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Derek Townsend made a huge save. Eddy Nicoll received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Derek Townsend tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wesley Lawson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dom Kyle's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Philip Tuck kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Roy Winterbine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Annscroft FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dersingham AFC the free kick. After 32 played minutes Annscroft FC got a freekick which was hit by Roy Winterbine. In the 33rd minute, Stew Weedon sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Annscroft FC's Wesley Lawson didn't even have to move. In the 34th minute, Roy Winterbine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Annscroft FC's Eddy Nicoll in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dersingham AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Derek Townsend made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Reggie Whalley sent off a good shot on target. After 44 played minutes Annscroft FC got a freekick which was hit by Marlon Dixon. Danny Crouch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek Townsend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Nicoll in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eddy Nicoll to make the kick off. Dersingham AFC's Derek Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Nicoll in the 63rd minute of play. If Dom Kyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wesley Lawson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dom Kyle in the 74th minute. Danny Crouch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek Townsend showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reggie Whalley in the 79th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Marlon Dixon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Danny Crouch notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Annscroft FC's Wesley Lawson. Wesley Lawson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
