Spectators: 7483 (Terracing: 5614, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) Brendon Lawson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Niall Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Tom Bittner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barry Coton kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Sheerness United's Roger Liddle couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 7th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Salmon FC. If Niall Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sheerness United's Glyn Whitman got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Niall Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Gary Dines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brendon Lawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Glyn Whitman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tom Bittner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niall Kelly in the 26th minute of the match. When Gary Dines came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Salmon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gary Dines couldn't finish the play. Niall Kelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Bittner having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Roger Hamilton notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Salmon FC's Tom Bittner. Tom Bittner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roger Hamilton made a kick off. Roger Hamilton charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roger Hamilton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Sheerness United got a freekick which was hit by Roger Hamilton. In the 54th minute of the match Barry Coton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Carpenter skillfully saved the ball. Gary Dines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. David Carpenter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Bittner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glyn Whitman went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Glyn Whitman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Carpenter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gary Dines, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Salmon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Niall Kelly came free, but Tom Bittner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glyn Whitman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Bittner having to interfere. In the 76th minute Niall Kelly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Bittner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Niall Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Roger Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Sheerness United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Hamilton couldn't finish the play. Roger Hamilton struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Tom Bittner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sheerness United.
