In the 16th minute, Dominik Ainsworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind South Ockendon's goalkeeper John Manson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Ironville United's Gav Plumber in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye South Ockendon's goalie prevented a goal. John Manson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nigel Church in the 23rd minute of the match. Nigel Church fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Manson having to interfere. John Manson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Church in the 27th minute of play. Thomas Lemerond struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Martyn Fleetwood didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Ockendon. After a defensive mix-up in South Ockendon's zone, Nigel Church stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Manson came out of the goal and Nigel Church tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the South Ockendon defense, Gav Plumber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John Manson. The South Ockendon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Manson should have stopped the shot. Nigel Church struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. John Manson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ironville United. Gav Plumber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. John Manson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ironville United's goalkeeper Martyn Fleetwood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The South Ockendon players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ironville United were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chip Ealham made a kick off. If Nigel Church had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ironville United getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Patrick Camfield hit a great ball. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ironville United! John Manson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gav Plumber in the 66th minute of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Nigel Church managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ironville United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nigel Church was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nigel Church took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised John Manson. John Manson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Martyn Fleetwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Lemerond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the game, Ironville United's Gav Plumber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Manson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 96 minutes into the match, South Ockendon's goal looked a bit too open when Nigel Church came free, but John Manson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ironville United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
