In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Fakenham's goalkeeper Bruce Renwick, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bruce Renwick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ged Blake in the 24th minute of the match. Ged Blake recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruce Renwick made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Charles Markham sent off a good shot on target. Swindon fc's Ged Blake got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ged Blake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruce Renwick having to interfere. Charles Markham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Bruce Renwick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duncan Deakin was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 92 played minutes Fakenham got a freekick which was hit by Duncan Deakin. In the 95th minute, Charles Markham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
