Glenn Birch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philip Shipton in the 5th minute of the match. Insurance Management Bear's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Dave Seaward scored to the left of an out of position Perry Parkinson, making the score, 1-0. After 12 played minutes, Insurance Management Bear's Scott Rayner shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Glenn Birch came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Insurance Management Bear reached it. When Seth Bridgeworth fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coventry City F.C.'s protests and gave Seth Bridgeworth a yellow card for diving instead. Seth Bridgeworth hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Insurance Management Bear's Philip Shipton in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Glenn Birch was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Glenn Birch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Shipton in the 24th minute of play. Damion Wardman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glenn Birch having to interfere. Glenn Birch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Philip Shipton's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Marty Brumfitt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Glenn Birch was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Dave Seaward charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dave Seaward the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Insurance Management Bear booed when Coventry City F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Seaward didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40thth minute of the game Philip Shipton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coventry City F.C.'s Glenn Birch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

52 minutes into the match, Insurance Management Bear's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Seaward came free, but Perry Parkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Seaward in the 57th minute of play forced Insurance Management Bear's goalkeeper Perry Parkinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Coventry City F.C.'s zone, Damion Wardman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glenn Birch came out of the goal and Damion Wardman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Martyn Pollard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Glenn Birch made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Philip Shipton sent off a good shot on target. Philip Shipton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Glenn Birch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Coventry City F.C.'s Glenn Birch got control of the ball when Philip Shipton tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Damion Wardman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philip Shipton in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Glenn Birch, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Philip Shipton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Glenn Birch made a huge save. 77 minutes into the match, Coventry City F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Philip Shipton came free, but Glenn Birch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Philip Shipton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glenn Birch was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Philip Shipton in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Glenn Birch, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Marty Brumfitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Philip Shipton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glenn Birch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Damion Wardman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Glenn Birch was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 91 played minutes Coventry City F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Martyn Pollard. If Marty Brumfitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
