Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Calvin Robertson kicked off to start the match. If Silvester Radcliffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Hallam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Bruce Renwick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jasper Broad came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Sudbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jasper Broad couldn't finish the play. Joel Bartlett hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Fakenham's Bruce Renwick got control of the ball when Jasper Broad tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 19 minutes, Marcus Alcock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fakenham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Alcock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Fakenham's Duncan Deakin got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Jasper Broad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sudbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Jasper Broad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruce Renwick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Alcock kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Fakenham's goalkeeper Bruce Renwick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jasper Broad. A collision led to Fakenham getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Joel Bartlett hit a great ball. Fakenham's Bruce Renwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Hallam in the 31st minute of play. Marcus Alcock hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Fakenham's Shane Tandy got a free kick in the 35th minute. Marcus Alcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Bryan Collier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calvin Robertson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Denis Hallam to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Jasper Broad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruce Renwick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Denis Hallam notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Fakenham's Bruce Renwick. Bruce Renwick was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jasper Broad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Alcock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 70 minutes, Joel Price managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fakenham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Price was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruce Renwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Hallam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fakenham's Bruce Renwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvester Radcliffe in the 82nd minute of play. Teddy Peacock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calvin Robertson hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the match Kris Bourton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruce Renwick skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jasper Broad in the 97th minute of play forced Fakenham's goalkeeper Bruce Renwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sudbury had won after a very even match.
