The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Fisher got free with Carlton Cole in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Wath upon Dearne AFC's Carlton Cole got control of the ball when Christian Fisher tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute Crispin Houghton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlton Cole saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tim Berryman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Howard Radcliffe, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 93rdth minute of the game Christian Fisher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wath upon Dearne AFC's Carlton Cole was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Studley's Christian Fisher got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
