The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Shaun Cooper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Swaffham City's goalkeeper Huey Hamilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 11 played minutes, Swaffham City's Rex Bartrup shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Piers Penn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Swaffham City reached it. If John-Paul Rowling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John-Paul Rowling who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Huey Hamilton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, King Lion UXX F.C.'s Sam Harkin got a free kick in the 19th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Swaffham City's Shaun Cooper nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Piers Penn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jasper Houghton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Huey Hamilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Swaffham City's goalkeeper Huey Hamilton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John-Paul Rowling. After 47 minutes, Brynn Styles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the King Lion UXX F.C. and the Swaffham City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brynn Styles hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jasper Houghton was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to King Lion UXX F.C. getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Garth Duxbury hit a great ball. After 57 played minutes, Swaffham City's Steven Foster shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Piers Penn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Huey Hamilton came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by King Lion UXX F.C.'s John-Paul Rowling. But to his dismay, John-Paul Rowling quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. King Lion UXX F.C.'s Piers Penn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Henman in the 85th minute of play. Swaffham City's Mark Henman got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If John-Paul Rowling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shaun Cooper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Penn having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
