Norman Keyworth in the 3rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vic Stockdale, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Casey Metcalfe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Giugno having to interfere. After 7 minutes, Albert Sills mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lincoln City and the Real Nickos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lincoln City getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Albert Sills hit a great ball. In the 8th minute, Conan Warner sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lincoln City's Sonny Giugno didn't even have to move. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyle Patton in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sonny Giugno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Johnnie Boland kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, one of Real Nickos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. David Adams shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Sonny Giugno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Patton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th match minute, Lincoln City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnnie Boland to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Real Nickos's Jimmy King got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 32 played minutes Real Nickos got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy King. Vic Stockdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew MacDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Norman Keyworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Albert Sills was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some careless play in the Lincoln City defense, Casey Metcalfe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sonny Giugno. The Lincoln City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sonny Giugno should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Norman Keyworth made the kick off in the second half. David Adams kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Casey Metcalfe came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sonny Giugno could save by the left post. In the 60th minute, Casey Metcalfe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Patton in the 62nd minute of play forced Lincoln City's goalkeeper Sonny Giugno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norman Keyworth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vic Stockdale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Sonny Giugno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Patton in the 66th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the game, Casey Metcalfe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sonny Giugno. Casey Metcalfe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. After having played for 76 minutes, Norman Keyworth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lincoln City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norman Keyworth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matthew MacDonald hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Vic Stockdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Keyworth in the 87th minute of the match. Vic Stockdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Keyworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Lincoln City's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Patton came free, but Sonny Giugno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sonny Giugno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Patton in the 95th minute of the match. If Kyle Patton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sonny Giugno made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Casey Metcalfe sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Real Nickos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
