The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jerry Wills sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Clapham AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! Clapham AFC:s Bobby Stride showed great skill when he stopped Frank Gold:s penalty. Jerry Wills fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Stride having to interfere. Bobby Stride was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jerry Wills showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Hired Goonz's Wesley Fuller dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Wesley Fuller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Bobby Stride tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hired Goonz's Wesley Fuller in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clapham AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 34 minutes into the match, Clapham AFC's goalkeeper Bobby Stride had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerry Wills. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Fuller in the 40th minute of play forced Clapham AFC's goalkeeper Bobby Stride to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quentin Strongman was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerry Wills in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bobby Stride prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute Jerry Wills shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Stride saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Wesley Fuller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bobby Stride was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. The supporters of Hired Goonz booed when Clapham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Strongman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hired Goonz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wesley Fuller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Wesley Fuller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
