Jake Lundy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Nickos's goalkeeper Vic Stockdale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 6 minutes into the match, Real Nickos's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Deighton came free, but Vic Stockdale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real Nickos's Vic Stockdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Wardill in the 9th minute of play. If Jake Lundy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Casey Metcalfe came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Real Nickos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casey Metcalfe couldn't finish the play. When Northallerton's Richard Deighton in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Nickos's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th minute Jake Lundy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vic Stockdale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Joel Holstead managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northallerton's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Holstead was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vic Stockdale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jake Lundy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Deighton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Stockdale having to interfere. Richard Deighton scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vic Stockdale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jake Lundy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Vic Stockdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Real Nickos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Northallerton were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kyle Patton to strike the kick off in the second half. Casey Metcalfe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zaq Hellen having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jake Lundy got free with Vic Stockdale in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Northallerton's John-Paul Bloom got a free kick in the 56th minute. Richard Deighton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vic Stockdale having to make a save. Richard Deighton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Vic Stockdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Northallerton got a freekick which was hit by John-Paul Bloom. Zaq Hellen came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Nickos's Kyle Patton. But to his dismay, Kyle Patton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Jake Lundy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Deighton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Stockdale having to interfere. John-Paul Bloom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Vic Stockdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Jake Lundy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Real Nickos's Vic Stockdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Deighton in the 88th minute of play.
