Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Real Nickos's Kyle Patton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Casey Metcalfe struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Bart Dobson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Nickos. After a rather tough play, Codnor's Jools Bridge got a free kick in the 4th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Casey Metcalfe in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bart Dobson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chesney Sykes in the 27th minute of play forced Real Nickos's goalkeeper Vic Stockdale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pete Lucas during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Real Nickos's Pete Lucas got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Chesney Sykes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Codnor's Chesney Sykes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vic Stockdale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Beinn Nelthorpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Vic Stockdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beinn Nelthorpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chesney Sykes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chesney Sykes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute, Howard Whitmore got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 55th minute, Beinn Nelthorpe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vic Stockdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beinn Nelthorpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vic Stockdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beinn Nelthorpe in the 58th minute of the match. Damian Newlyn might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vic Stockdale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damian Newlyn ran back to his position shaking his head. 63 minutes into the match, Codnor's goalkeeper Bart Dobson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Casey Metcalfe. In the 64th minute, Chesney Sykes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jools Bridge hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Bart Dobson came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Nickos's Pierre Broad. But to his dismay, Pierre Broad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 74th minute, Chesney Sykes made a precise shot to the right of Vic Stockdale. Real Nickos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Codnor's Shaun Moss got a free kick in the 80th minute. Beinn Nelthorpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vic Stockdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Codnor's goalkeeper Bart Dobson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Casey Metcalfe. Beinn Nelthorpe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Codnor were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
