In the 7th minute, Richie Brooks made a precise shot to the right of Noel Doona. Manchester City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 9th minute Leo Tate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Doona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vance Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barry Mann having to interfere. AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Barry Mann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save AlcoTeam St Neots FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in AlcoTeam St Neots FC's zone, Richard Fleming stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barry Mann came out of the goal and Richard Fleming tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rod Izzard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel Doona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richie Brooks in the 17th minute of play. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Richie Brooks sped through Manchester City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Noel Doona. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Tate in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noel Doona prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 24 minutes of play, AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Richie Brooks made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Noel Doona was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Richard Fleming came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Fleming couldn't finish the play. After having played for 31 minutes, Vance Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vance Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richard Fleming struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Barry Mann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City. The supporters of Manchester City booed when AlcoTeam St Neots FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kev Batty didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Manchester City's Richard Fleming in action when he in the 40th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! An unexpectedly hard shot by Richie Brooks in the 43rd minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Noel Doona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.
When Vance Rogers fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester City's protests and gave Vance Rogers a yellow card for diving instead. Noel Doona came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Leo Tate. But to his dismay, Leo Tate quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Izzard in the 58th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Noel Doona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Noel Doona made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Leo Tate sent off a good shot on target. If Richard Fleming had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Doona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richie Brooks in the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of Manchester City booed when AlcoTeam St Neots FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rod Izzard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manchester City's Richard Fleming got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Eric Mann notched a goal, 1-6, to the right of AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Barry Mann. Barry Mann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With 88 minutes on the clock, Keith Bamford commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Manchester City! When the match had been going on for 91 minutes, AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Kev Batty got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Noel Doona. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richie Brooks in the 93rd minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Noel Doona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Richie Brooks could shoot a difficult shot in the 95th minute, which Noel Doona however easily saved by the left post. When Freddie Harding fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester City's protests and gave Freddie Harding a yellow card for diving instead. Richie Brooks made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 97thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Noel Doona would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. AlcoTeam St Neots FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
