After 26 played minutes Harefield got a freekick which was hit by Kris Downing. If Andrew Roy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kris Kay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mitch Archer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Roy in the 32nd minute of play. Mitch Archer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Kay, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Warrington Knights were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrew Roy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rupert Illingworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Lance Moore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Warrington Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Illingworth came free, but Lance Moore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lance Moore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralph Heywood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kris Kay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitch Archer having to interfere. Kris Kay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mitch Archer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Warrington Knights's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
