The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Rod Izzard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Richie Brooks who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Mitch Archer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Harefield's Mitch Archer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richie Brooks in the 9th minute of play. Barry Mann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralph Heywood in the 12th minute of the match. Mitch Archer came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Richie Brooks. But to his dismay, Richie Brooks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 19 minutes into the game, AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Will Greenfield nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mitch Archer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Harefield's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Richie Brooks scored to the left of an out of position Mitch Archer, making the score, 3-0. AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Leo Tate got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Richie Brooks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rod Izzard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Greenfield in the 31st minute of play forced Harefield's goalkeeper Mitch Archer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richie Brooks in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mitch Archer saved Harefield from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Harefield's zone, Lennie Shakespeare stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mitch Archer came out of the goal and Lennie Shakespeare tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the game, Richie Brooks cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Mitch Archer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 46 minutes into the game, AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Leo Tate nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The wind increased when Richie Brooks made the kick off in the second half. AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Richie Brooks got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Will Greenfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Mitch Archer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65thth minute of the game Richie Brooks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harefield's Mitch Archer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 67th minute, Richie Brooks made a precise shot to the right of Mitch Archer. Harefield's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 70th minute Richie Brooks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitch Archer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AlcoTeam St Neots FC's Leo Tate was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mitch Archer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Richie Brooks put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Mitch Archer. 77 minutes into the match, Harefield's goal looked a bit too open when Richie Brooks came free, but Mitch Archer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richie Brooks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Mitch Archer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that AlcoTeam St Neots FC were the better team. AlcoTeam St Neots FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
