In the 13thth minute of the game Dom Flack who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lordshill Skates FC's Olly Grigg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sol Stevens fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paignton City's protests and gave Sol Stevens a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Paignton City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sol Stevens to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute of the match Sammy Sweeney shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Glyn Locke showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eric Boyd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Dom Flack recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olly Grigg. Dom Flack showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. The supporters of Lordshill Skates FC booed when Paignton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grant Longstaffe didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kristopher Munroe in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Glyn Locke saved Paignton City from getting behind. Sol Stevens hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Olly Grigg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Boyd in the 44th minute. Dom Flack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Olly Grigg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dom Flack stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olly Grigg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dom Flack's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lordshill Skates FC's goalkeeper Olly Grigg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franz English got free with Glyn Locke in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 75 minutes into the game, Lordshill Skates FC's Franz English nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Glyn Locke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Olly Grigg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dom Flack, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
