Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dom Flack started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Eric Boyd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Stubbs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glyn Locke was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Michael Nicoll capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Michael Nicoll really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Kev Wiltshire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 17 minutes, Kev Wiltshire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stroud's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kev Wiltshire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Kev Wiltshire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dom Flack charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dom Flack the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th minute, Dom Flack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kev Wiltshire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Locke having to interfere. Kev Wiltshire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd match minute, Paignton City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Wicks to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Kev Wiltshire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kev Wiltshire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stroud's Kev Wiltshire got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michael Hylton kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Kev Wiltshire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Glyn Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Stroud booed when Paignton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dom Flack didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Kev Wiltshire made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Stroud was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ash Richardson to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the match, Paignton City's goal looked a bit too open when Kev Wiltshire came free, but Glyn Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brett Poynton kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Eric Boyd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paul Stubbs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Paignton City's goal looked a bit too open when Kev Wiltshire came free, but Glyn Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Paignton City's Grant Longstaffe got a free kick in the 61st minute. Eric Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dom Flack in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Stubbs prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kev Wiltshire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Stroud's zone, Dom Flack stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Stubbs came out of the goal and Dom Flack tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stroud's Paul Stubbs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Stroud from getting a goal against them. Kev Wiltshire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Locke having to interfere. A collision led to Paignton City getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Calum Charlton hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hayden Fawcett during the 94th minute.
