In the 7thth minute of the game Kirk Hargreaves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paignton City's Glyn Locke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 8th minute, Dom Flack got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vince Graydon kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Eric Boyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dane Gibbons having to interfere. If Eric Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dom Flack in the 31st minute of play forced Wallsend AFC's goalkeeper Dane Gibbons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Wallsend AFC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Vince Graydon hit a great ball. Dom Flack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Dane Gibbons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wallsend AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Dom Flack scored to the left of an out of position Dane Gibbons, making the score, 1-0. Ted Hilton hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Eric Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Steve Fenton kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Kirk Hargreaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paignton City's Glyn Locke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Hargreaves in the 68th minute of play. Andre Gayle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Locke having to interfere. Andre Gayle who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Glyn Locke when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 86th minute, Andre Gayle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
