The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Shane Stayton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Danny Carlick made a huge save. Danny Carlick made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. 97 minutes into the match, Boozeon First's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Gale came free, but Deon Norton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Boozeon First supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Boozeon First would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
