Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Will Goodman made the kick off which started today's match. Austin Cooke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rueben Hanson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. When Salford FC's Will Goodman in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Deptford's goalie prevented a goal. 12 minutes into the match, Salford FC's goalkeeper Rueben Hanson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Austin Cooke. Austin Cooke in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rueben Hanson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Austin Cooke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Salford FC's zone, Drew Thomas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rueben Hanson came out of the goal and Drew Thomas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shawn Brookes in the 20th minute of play forced Deptford's goalkeeper Andre Forrest to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shawn Brookes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Andre Forrest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Drew Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Austin Cooke notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Salford FC's Rueben Hanson. Rueben Hanson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Salford FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Drew Thomas 33 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. The supporters of Deptford booed when Salford FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Will Goodman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Austin Cooke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Shawn Brookes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salford FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shawn Brookes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Drew Thomas came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Deptford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Drew Thomas couldn't finish the play. Rueben Hanson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Austin Cooke in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Salford FC's Sean Wakefield got a free kick in the 51st minute. If Austin Cooke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rueben Rowling fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salford FC's protests and gave Rueben Rowling a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Drew Thomas in the 57th minute of play forced Salford FC's goalkeeper Rueben Hanson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salford FC's Rueben Hanson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Drew Thomas in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Salford FC booed when Deptford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rupert Armitstead didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rueben Hanson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drew Thomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 67 played minutes Deptford got a freekick which was hit by Drew Thomas. Austin Cooke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Austin Cooke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rueben Hanson having to interfere. Deptford's Austin Cooke got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rueben Hanson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Drew Thomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deptford's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
