When Daryl Mills fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grozdan Genkovski in the 41st minute of play forced Victoria United's goalkeeper Rowan Cross to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Grozdan Genkovski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rowan Cross was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 46 minutes into the game, Cantelowes FC's Jonny Dudgeon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rowan Cross made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After the first half Cantelowes FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Grozdan Genkovski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rowan Cross made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Grozdan Genkovski sent off a good shot on target. Jonny Dudgeon might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rowan Cross. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonny Dudgeon ran back to his position shaking his head. Marlon Currie kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Cantelowes FC's Mustafa Emre Sidam quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Grozdan Genkovski who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Rowan Cross when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 97th minute, Archie Gilchrist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Cantelowes FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Victoria United throughout the match.
