Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd minute John Paul Leeson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Forrest saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Victoria United's zone, Austin Cooke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rowan Cross came out of the goal and Austin Cooke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victoria United's Rowan Cross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Drew Thomas in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th match minute, Victoria United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Currie to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute, Micheal Downs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ozzy Burrows sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 12 minutes, Austin Cooke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deptford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Austin Cooke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 minutes of play, Deptford's Drew Thomas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rowan Cross was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rowan Cross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austin Cooke, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. If Drew Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Austin Cooke came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Deptford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Austin Cooke couldn't finish the play. Rowan Cross came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Deptford's Drew Thomas. But to his dismay, Drew Thomas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Deptford's Micheal Downs got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a rather tough play, Victoria United's Marlon Currie got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Cooke in the 43rd minute of play forced Victoria United's goalkeeper Rowan Cross to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Drew Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victoria United's Rowan Cross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Drew Thomas in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Paul Leeson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Deptford booed when Victoria United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Archie Gilchrist didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Rowan Cross managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Deptford's Austin Cooke fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Drew Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Drew Thomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deptford's supporters rose to their feet, but Drew Thomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rowan Cross breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Austin Cooke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rowan Cross stood somewhat misplaced when Drew Thomas came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 68 minute. Victoria United's Rowan Cross proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Victoria United from getting a goal against them. Drew Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rowan Cross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drew Thomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Austin Cooke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rowan Cross tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Deptford's Joey Gallacher tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ozzy Burrows recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Drew Thomas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rowan Cross having to make a save. The supporters of Victoria United booed when Deptford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ash Hatcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, Don Shotton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd match minute, Deptford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tod Rushforth to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th match minute, Deptford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert Armitstead to maneuver through the defense.
