Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alfred Laycock got the match started through his kick off. After having played for 5 minutes, Alfred Laycock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golcar City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Laycock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. James Medlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steven Lee-Barrett hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Alfred Laycock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonny Benbow hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lloyd Green during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonny Benbow kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Bradley Lambert kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Golcar City's Alfred Laycock got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Al Buxton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from James Medlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonny Benbow hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Alfred Laycock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 39 played minutes Golcar City got a freekick which was hit by Pete Nelson. Trevor Albright recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Al Buxton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Laycock, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling James Medlin in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Al Buxton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliver Wroe was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Culcheth City's Al Buxton got control of the ball when James Medlin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Al Buxton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Laycock in the 58th minute of the match. Al Buxton stood somewhat misplaced when Alfred Laycock came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 62 minute. If James Medlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Golcar City's Alfred Laycock got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, James Medlin took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Al Buxton to make any attempt to save it. In the 87th minute Alfred Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Al Buxton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. James Medlins short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Al Buxton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. James Medlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Buxton having to interfere. Alfred Laycock struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Al Buxton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golcar City. Golcar City's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
