Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Darryl Henry kicked off to start the match. Durham City's Travis Gilchrist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Ingram in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Deon Pickering hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Andre Hellen had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 6 minutes, Brad Story-Moore mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shoeburyness AFC and the Durham City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Luke Dobson, was totally fooled by Durham City's Spike Day, who 8 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 14th minute, Darryl Henry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kevin Wallbank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 22 minutes, Darryl Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Durham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darryl Henry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Shoeburyness AFC's zone, Austen Tabb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luke Dobson came out of the goal and Austen Tabb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Darryl Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Luke Dobson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Shoeburyness AFC got a freekick which was hit by Deon Pickering. Pat Chalmers charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pat Chalmers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pat Chalmers kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Travis Gilchrist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kevin Wallbank's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Kevin Wallbank managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shoeburyness AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Wallbank was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Travis Gilchrist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Austen Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Billy Ingram to make the kick off. Darryl Henry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Durham City's Darryl Henry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luke Dobson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Austen Tabb struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Luke Dobson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Durham City. Austen Tabb took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luke Dobson. Luke Dobson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Austen Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Austen Tabb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Luke Dobson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nath Dunning came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Durham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nath Dunning couldn't finish the play. Kevin Wallbank's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Travis Gilchrist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. When Austen Tabb came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Durham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Austen Tabb couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Darryl Henry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Durham City getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Darryl Henry hit a great ball. Shoeburyness AFC's Brad Story-Moore shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 81st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Travis Gilchrist but with some difficulty. When Austen Tabb came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Durham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Austen Tabb couldn't finish the play. Nath Dunning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Luke Dobson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darryl Henry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Austen Tabb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Billy Ingram was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Austen Tabb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Luke Dobson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Durham City players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
