Travis Gilchrist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bob Gray's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. With a little luck, Seaham AFC's John Paul Broom got control of the ball when Andre Hellen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michael Newman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Travis Gilchrist having to interfere. Travis Gilchrist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Newman in the 21st minute of play. Seaham AFC's John Paul Broom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darryl Henry in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Michael Newman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Travis Gilchrist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th match minute, Durham City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Spike Day to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd match minute, Seaham AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Jeffrey to maneuver through the defense. Andre Hellen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. John Paul Broom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Hellen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andre Hellen kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute. Though ot was a great shot Seaham AFC's keeper John Paul Broom was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Bob Gray managed to get in a good position for a shot. Seaham AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bob Gray was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Travis Gilchrist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Seaham AFC's goalkeeper John Paul Broom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Seaham AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michael Newman was the one to do the kick off. John Paul Broom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Darryl Henry's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute Andre Hellen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Paul Broom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Darryl Henry came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Durham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darryl Henry couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Darryl Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Durham City's supporters rose to their feet, but Darryl Henry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John Paul Broom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Seaham AFC's Franz Conway got a free kick in the 64th minute. John Paul Broom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Hellen, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Darryl Henry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Michael Newman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Travis Gilchrist having to interfere. Franz Conway's late challenge caught a Durham City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franz Conway helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Seaham AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franz Conway to maneuver through the defense. Darryl Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. John Paul Broom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Durham City's zone, Michael Newman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Travis Gilchrist came out of the goal and Michael Newman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Durham City's Andre Hellen got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andre Hellen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michael Newman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Andre Hellen came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Durham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andre Hellen couldn't finish the play. Seaham AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
