Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bethnal Green and Hackney City's Lewis Huckerby started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brendon Edworthy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kirk Crouch in the 5th minute. In the 6th match minute, Darwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Bartlett to maneuver through the defense. Kirk Crouch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brendon Edworthy having to make a save. In the 14th minute, Gus Brayson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Denzil Connell came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Darwen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denzil Connell couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Iain Morgan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Huckerby in the 22nd minute of play forced Darwen's goalkeeper Brendon Edworthy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Brendon Winstanley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Iain Morgan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bethnal Green and Hackney City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Darwen the free kick. Donny Bensley came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Darwen's Ty Turnbull. But to his dismay, Ty Turnbull quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Abraham Bartlett was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. In the 35th minute, Abraham Bartlett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute of the match Luke Collier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donny Bensley skillfully saved the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Bethnal Green and Hackney City's goal looked a bit too open when Ty Turnbull came free, but Donny Bensley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Ed Kenworthy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the match, Bethnal Green and Hackney City's Philip Carlisle broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After the first half Darwen were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ty Turnbull made the kick off in the second half. Brendon Edworthy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kirk Crouch's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Darwen's Brendon Edworthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Crouch in the 57th minute of play. Iain Morgan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brendon Winstanley hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ty Turnbull got free with Donny Bensley in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kirk Crouch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Edworthy having to interfere. If Kirk Crouch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darwen's Brendon Edworthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Crouch in the 85th minute of play. Donny Bensley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ty Turnbull, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ty Turnbull succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 89th playminute. A collision led to Darwen getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ed Kenworthy hit a great ball.
