If Bruce Foster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Junior Weir stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruce Foster's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Bruce Foster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Junior Weir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Felix Jones was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leyton Orient F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dover AFC the free kick. A collision led to Leyton Orient F.C. getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Felix Jones hit a great ball. Andre Locking sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Andre Locking's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Junior Weir was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The Dover AFC fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Dover AFC's Andre Locking looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Junior Weir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Foster, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andre Locking in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Junior Weir saved Leyton Orient F.C. from getting behind. Junior Weir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Locking in the 33rd minute of play. When Pat Norton fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dover AFC's protests and gave Pat Norton a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Dover AFC's Pat Norton got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute Donald Webb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Swift saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donald Webb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

After 53 played minutes, Leyton Orient F.C.'s Lloyd Hislop shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dale Swift came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leyton Orient F.C. reached it. Denzil Meehan hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Leyton Orient F.C.'s Alastair Chivers got a free kick in the 55th minute. Alastair Chivers kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Bruce Foster fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the Dover AFC defense, James Lyons kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dale Swift. The Dover AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dale Swift should have stopped the shot. The long shot by Lewis Wardill in the 81st minute really tested Junior Weir's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruce Foster in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Junior Weir saved Leyton Orient F.C. from getting behind. Andre Locking in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Junior Weir, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bruce Foster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Junior Weir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dover AFC! Victor Brookman shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Dale Swift took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donald Webb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dover AFC's Bruce Foster in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leyton Orient F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal.
