In the 38thth minute of the game Mike Llewellyn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shepton Mallet's Nigel Messenger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Allan Avery came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kasey Pryor could save by the left post. After 48 played minutes, Shepton Mallet's Chaz Wicks shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kasey Pryor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shepton Mallet reached it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Allan Avery charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Kasey Pryor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damien Caine, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Marek Cadwallader managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shepton Mallet's supporters rose to their feet, but Marek Cadwallader was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasey Pryor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Shepton Mallet's zone, Mike Llewellyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigel Messenger came out of the goal and Mike Llewellyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Damien Caine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Kasey Pryor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sidcup's Darius Brookes got a free kick in the 90th minute. Marek Cadwallader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute.
